Lutheran Social Services of Northern California
Offers services to unhoused people in Concord, Stockton, Sacramento, and San Francisco. Services include money management, case management, and housing support.
Lutheran Social Services of Southern California
Offers emergency, supportive, and transitional services to unhoused people in Southern California. Provides free food and clothing, showers, temporary shelter, and transportation assistance. Helps people obtain dental care, glasses, and prescription medicine. Offers counseling, self-help, eviction support, reentry case management, and referral services.
Mental Health Advocacy Services
Offers legal representation to people living with mental health disabilities. Practice areas include housing discrimination, public benefits, and access to mental health services.
Supports incarcerated people prior to their release and during their reentry through job training and social services.
Provides emergency shelter, immigration legal services, and support for day laborers and domestic workers.
Publishes resources on navigating barriers to reentry and how to get a job with a criminal record.
Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA)
Provides free legal assistance to low-income people in Los Angeles County. Services include eviction defense, support with housing discrimination claims, help accessing public benefits, debtors’ rights, and representation in disputes with employers.
Non-profit that provides low-cost tattoo removal.
Northern California Innocence Project
Aims to free wrongfully convicted, factually innocent prisoners convicted in Northern California. Intake questionnaires can be found online.
