Sample Letters

Here are a few sample client letters. As with all forms and samples, they must be revised and adapted each time they are used to account for case differences. For instance, how much information to include about certiorari petitions and habeas petitions, and whether to provide forms for such petitions, will vary from case to case, depending on the issues involved and the client's expressed interest in pursuing further relief. (More samples will be added later and others can be found on the SDAP Web site.)

  • Closing letter where counsel filed a petition for review which the Cal. Supreme Court denied:

  • Closing letter where counsel will not be filing a petition for rehearing or petition for review.
