News from the Director

We have two training opportunities to announce:

PJDC's June 2016 Delinquency Trainings

The Pacific Juvenile Defender Center is sponsoring two all-day trainings (one each in Berkeley and Los Angeles). The trainings will cover many delinquency law practice issues, adolescent development, duties of counsel, competency, capacity, detention, adjudication strategies, non-wardship resolutions, dispositional and postdispositional issues, and appellate duties.

Note: These trainings are designed to fulfill the new requirements of AB 703 and Rule 5.664, which set minimum training requirements for attorneys accepting delinquency appointments in the juvenile court. The minimum training requirements are not required for attorneys accepting delinquency appointments in the court of appeal, but such attorneys may nevertheless find the trainings beneficial and relevant.

Date Set for FDAP's 2017 Annual Training

Please save the date for FDAP's 2017 Annual Training. It will be a little later than usual to avoid some scheduling conflicts. Our 2017 training will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017. Please save the date. Registration will open in the fall.
