Fiscal Year 2010-2011 Year-End Claims Processing The Administrative Office of the Courts has asked the projects to distribute the below notice regarding the processing procedures for end-of-year compensation claims. It addresses the payment of compensation claims for the current fiscal year that ends on June 30th. Please carefully review the notice: IMPORTANT NOTICE Fiscal Year 2010–2011 Year-End Claims Processing Procedures We are fast approaching the end of fiscal year (FY) 10–11. The following provides the Administrative Office of the Courts’ (AOC) year-end procedures for processing payments of the Court Appointed Counsel (CAC) claims at year-end and/or until the 2011 Budget Act is signed. Year-End Project Procedures and Transmissions The AOC will process all CAC claims that are transmitted from the projects the evening of June 29 (Wednesday transmission) on Thursday, June 30. This will be the last day of the normal claims processing for FY 10–11. Claims Processed Based on FY 10–11 Funds Limited funds will be accrued to pay FY 10–11 claims that meet one of the below criteria during the budget impasse. Claims transmitted to the AOC for payment on the night of June 30, 2011, and after will be processed for payment only if the work is performed on or before June 30, 2011, according to the following criteria:
Once the accrued funds for FY 10–11 are exhausted, the AOC will hold all transmitted claims until a budget is signed. Claims Held for the Enactment of FY 11–12 Budget All other claims transmitted to the AOC where the AOB date*, Opinion date*, or the Wende AOB date*, plus 30 days, is July 1, 2011, and after will not be processed for payment until the budget is signed. Early interim claims with a record size of 7,500 pages that are transmitted to the AOC after June 29, 2011, will be processed when the budget is signed. In the event a budget is signed before exhaustion of the accrued funds, we will continue this procedure and pay claims based on the fiscal year in which the work is performed until the funds are used. *Project note: All AOC date references are the date the court files the brief, opinion, or other order. Please note that the Rule 8.25 “mailing service date” does not apply to claims. . |
